  • Wooden rice paddle, bamboo scroll, pressboard, sushi knife, mold and base
  • Wood, Bamboo
  • Used for sushi

  • Great for the price I purchased this for a cooking showdown between friends. I had never made sushi before. After a day of watching videos and Google searching techniques and recipes I bought this set on a Tuesday. Got it on a Friday and won the Sushi contest on Saturday. I was actually accused of buying from a restaurant but proved myself when I rolled right in front of them. With all ingredients laid out and a little practice you can have a roll made and cut in about 2 minutes. the press is also awesome. I did some sashimi by hand then saw Iron Chef use the press to do cucumber shrimp sashimi. With a very thin slice of cucumber a little homemade spicy mayo and a lightly salted cooked shrimp my wife actually ate sushi. The knife will need to be taken good care of sharpen carefully and do not put in dishwasher. Spoon could be a little longer but it works. Careful with the mat bamboo will shift.
Pretty easy to use As long as you follow the directions it's simple to use. Our sushi turned out great. I highly recommend.
DO NOT BUY If I could rate this a lower star than a 1 I would. This was a waste of time and money. The sushi press is not a sushi press. It's made of cheap plywood and was full of woodshavings. The knife was bent when I got it. Very cheap metal. The rice paddle is made of the same cheap wood from the box. The only good thing of this whole package was the sushi mat to roll sushi. Do not buy this piece of garbage. I would have saved the time and money buy buying a more expensive knife sushi press and paddle.
AWESOME! Got these for my daughter for Xmas last year as part of her sushi making experience. Still going and it does everything it is supposed to.
Not A Culinary Grade Item I bought this cause I looked everywhere for a sushi mat and came up short. I had never made vegetable rolls before but saw an episode of Dr. Oz and began my chasing down a sushi mat. I finally turned to Amazon. I really just wanted the mat. On knives you get what you pay for and this knife will be fine for it's purpose sort of. The press kit arrived with a leg off the box. I thought it all fit neatly into the little box had actually never heard of a sushi press so it was fine. Normally I'd send back the item but the mat is fine. I watched a couple of videos on youtube and the mat works.
Works Great We ordered this in April 2011 so we can make homemade Sushi for our anniversary. It worked great. Very easy to use and easy to clean. I recommend this for anyone who wants to try to make their own Sushi at home.

  • The blade on the Ulu Knife measures 6". Walnut knife stand and instruction book included
  • The Ulu knife (pronounced oo-loo) comes from Alaska, and has been used by Native people of the Arctic for centuries.
  • The Ulu rocker knife performs most culinary chores with ease and efficiency - from chopping nuts to slicing cheese and meats. One aspect of this knife that sets it apart from other rocker knives is that it can easily be sharpened, giving it much longer usability.
  • The blade is made of stainless steel and has a large, easy to grip wooden handle. This is an excellent tool for single-handed people or people with weak hands.
  • Finally, a rocker knife worthy of great chefs! Ulu knives have a unique design which increases dexterity and leverage, making fine cuts simple and chopping easier.

  • Alaskan Ulu Knife Fantastic Product My handicapped sister has been using an Ulu knife since the mid '90s when another sister happened upon one in a store in Alaska. This knife is perfect for people who can only use one hand for cutting and gives a great sense of independence.
Chopper Love this chopper. My husband was the one that wanted this chopper but I also enjoy using it. GREAT for salads and gifts for relatives. Very sharp. Will buy from seller again and recommend as well.
Great Knife Great! Aid to handicap rocking motion makes cuting/chopping much easier. Handle easy to grip/hold even if hand muscles are weak.Would recommend buying with cutting board with bowl shape that matches curve of knife.Caution very sharp!! handle with care.
what you can use this for this is a great item for a patient that has suffered a stroke and has limited use of his hands. it makes cutting simple & lets the person be self sufficient.
Great Blade This knife is awesome. Although fleshing deer hides is hard and electric tools might make the process far less tedious this knife is the best single handed tool I've used. Certainly worth the price.
Ulu Knife is the greatest. I have the cutting board and use this to slice carrots celery etc. I have also used it to dice up meat. I love it.
great knife Nice sharp knife. Cuts very well. The wood handle is more comfortable if you take the time to oil it.
The Ulu Knife The Ulu Knife is a great tool and a must have for thecook that likes easy chopping! I have arthritis and thisknife is so user friendly.
Great Chopper Bought one on a trip to Alaska several years ago wore it out and needed a replacement. Found this one on Amazon and it works perfectly. It is very useful for chopping and cutting items in the preperation of food in the kitchen. Would not be without at least one.

OXO Good Grips Lemon Zester Works with a little tweaking

    OXO Good Grips Lemon Zester
OXO Good Grips Lemon Zester Read more...

  • Sharp holes in the head make zesting rinds easy
  • Built-in channel knife for garnishing
  • Stainless-steel head is solid and durable
  • Comfortable, nonslip handle absorbs pressure from hands
  • Safe to use in dishwasher

  • Hard to make twists time consuming to zest I was really looking forward to putting peel twists in mixed drinks but it's incredibly hard* to make anything over 1cm long with this tool. My friends tried too and they couldn't get anything substantial either. Zesting is fine although it's much more timeconsuming to do with this than with a microblade.
Nice Handy Tool for Lemons and Papayas The OXO Good Grips Lemon Zester has a very good grip indeed. It has a fat handle that gives your hand good leverage when using the single tooth to get long fat strips of lemon zest. Flip the zester over and there is a narrow row of 5 or 6 small round holes that with some pressure create nice thin short strips of lemon zest. This tool would also work with unripe papaya to shave into pickled preserves or other papaya recipes. It's not the fastest zester but it's a lot simpler to clean after using compared to any larger screentype grater.
Dull and disappointed I believe that this is a quality control issue since a lot of people have good reviews. The sample that I received is completely dull so dull that it is not possible to zest a lemon with the big groove it ends up just tearing the peel. The small zester holes part is also dull and I end up smashing the fruit to get decent zest.
cuts an ugly lemon twist and is a rotton zester besides This must be the worst product I've ever purchased that sports the OXO label. And I've got a lot of the stuff and have been generally satisfied with it. I needed a channel knife wanted one where you could draw it sideways like a paring knife instead of pulling it longways towards youlook at other channel knives you'll know what I mean. This gadget cuts the raggediest leastattractive lemon twists ever and it's hard to pull through the rind as well. So I thought OK it's still a good zester. And..Noit'snot. Get a microplane or maybe a different zester but this one is a turd. Finally the handle is not comfortable it's too hard and too big for my fairly small but not outrageously so hand. The whole tool is poorly designed and clumsy.
Peel like a pro! Ordered this tool to help me add citrus peels and zest to various cocktails and it has so far lived up to expectations. Seems well made and makes a nice deep cut when needed but possible to cut a little more shallow if need be. My only complaint is that I just wish companies would make things like this for left handed people. Oxo has a reputation for good quality and ergonomic tools but they still leave out a good portion of the population by not accomodating left handed people! They aren't alone of course but frustrating all the same.
Zester! I like it! I've been using a lot of oriential receipes and this zester works so much better than what I'd been using in the past. Works well. Gets the job done and is comfortable to hold and use.
Works Well for Cocktail Garnishes I bought this for making citrus peel cocktail garnishes. The cutting blade could be a little sharper and it looks clumsily formed. It works well though and I don't regret buying it. If you're looking for something to make citrus peel for baking or cooking I'd go with a microplane instead. The zester part of this makes long thing strips which would be more for garnishing food and the other part makes ~1/4 thick strips for garnishing drinks.
Great zester! I love this zester! It is so easy to use and clean! It can even provide peels.
Dull Channnel Knife I purchased the OXO lemon zester specifically for the purpose of making long lemon garnishes for martinis and other beverages. It worked tolerably well the very first time but after that the channel knife was too dull to work at all. Was very disappointed.
Works with a little tweaking Like some others have noted my zester arrived rather dull but I was able to sharpen it up quickly with a metal file. I got this for the peeler or twist maker part more than the zester part and now that it's sharp it works ok for that. It does have a tendency to skip every now and then though I have been able to get out some decently long cocktail twists.

  • 2-piece salad chopper set with durable bowl and rolling chopper hand tool
  • Both pieces are dishwasher-safe; 5-1/2-quart capacity
  • Generous, angled, nonslip handle for comfortable chopping action
  • Double stainless-steel blades to efficiently slice greens, veggies, and more
  • Bowl features continuous curve for constant contact with blades

  • useless I chop a lot of herps and vegstables and thought this looked like a time saver but really a good knife is so much better. Save money and space in your drawers skip it. It's silly.
disappointing I searched for a long time for this product. I should have known better when my favorite cooking store said they used to carry it but decided to discontinue sales. The bowl is fantastic. The blades of the cutter are nice and sharp. It would work better it the blades were closer together. It takes much longer to achieve a proper chopped salad with this product than with a cutting board and chef's knife.
Perfect Chopper I don't know what it is about chopped salad that makes it taste so much better than tossed but this chopper makes it very easy to make a great chopped salad. It handles everything from the veggies to meats and cheeses for the perfect antipasto salad.
My wife loves this buys it now My wife loves this buys it now. it does a great job no complaints. no not try to make it better it fine the way it is.
Interesting idea works okay I bought this because we eat a lot of salads and shred a lot of kale and greens for soups. The price and reviews were good so I bought this about 4 months ago and have used it many times. I didn't think using it to shred leafy salad greens was as fun as some of the reviewers thought it was. It works but I don't think it's any easier than just putting the greens on a big wooden chopping board and using a large knife. The greens in the center of the bowl get very finely chopped and you have to keep moving the greens from around the edges into the center of the bowl. I'm going to try using the chopper on the chopping board next time. We love the big bowl and use that for all kinds of stuff.
fine chopper This is an excellent chopper and bowl set aand well worth the low price. I love salads and this makes quick work of chopping anything for your salad. The chopper is so easy to use and chop any kinds of greens and vegetables.
Outstanding salad maker Whenever we use this we get rave reviews from friends and family members. We put all the salad fixing minus the dressing together and chop. The blade cuts through everything and makes the flavor enhanced throughout.
My salads are now fabulous! I LOVE THIS!!! I just ordered another for my mom! Def a great product and the price is good also.
Great Chopper! So simple so easy to clean. This nonelectric nongimmicky salad chopper does exactly what it claims. You can chop an individual salad or enough for a family and guests. The end result depends on how long the user chops. There is no learning curve.you start chopping you watch the salad you flip it over a little with the side of the blade you chop again and stop when you like what you see. You can chop lettuce only or throw anything and everything in the bowl and chop it at once. We now eat chopped salads at every dinner and it's never failed me. I've thrown everything at itonions nuts cherry tomatoes hard cooked eggs cheese dried cranberries celery carrots etc. I have learned to start with the hard stuff celery carrots nuts and throw in the soft stuff at the end like the eggs or cheese. I never prechop entire salads for the next day but I wouldn't do that with any chopper. There's no storage issue because the big sturdy bowl stores with your other bowls and you can use it for anything including trickortreat handouts. We've used this chopper many many time and the blades thus far show no sign of dulling. I'm buying two for Christmas gifts.
the best salad maker and the least amt of time! I can place whole romaine leaves spinach spring mix sliced cukes/onions. radishes bell peppers and even processed beef/turkey/cheese into the bowl and by rotating bowl with one hand I can either roll or pound the chopper with other hand and get everything to bite size in 30 seconds! The tool also allows shuffling the veggies for even distribution. Include eggs whatever except for carrots which are too thick and must be julienned first. Eating more salads because prep is so quick now!

  • Made in Germany, surgical-grade stainless-steel blades are incredibly sharp and snap in and out of base with 1 easy movement
  • Protective storage caddy safely holds all components while not in use; easy to clean; rinse under running water after use
  • Includes 7mm blade, 3.5mm blade, and thick/thin reversible slicing blade; slice different thicknesses, julienne, or shred
  • Ambidextrous Food Safety holder provides complete protection; prongs hold food while guard protects hands
  • Set includes tough ABS plastic frame, food safety holder, 3 blade inserts, and storage caddy with locking clip

  • Harder root vegetables? Forget it. The slicer seems to be well made the blades are dangerously sharp however it failed to accomplish the task I purchased it forDicing rutabagas parsnips carrots. What is wrong1 these root vegetables are very hard. Even when using all my strength there is no way I can slide a rutabaga through the slicer unless I precut into very thin pieces. I might as well dice it by hand2 dicing requires you to first slice the vegetable by hand into strips the mandolin only provides slicing in the perpendicular direction. In other words worthless you are doing about 70% of the work by knife anyway the mandolin provides no real value.3 the plastic holder cannot accommodate larger pieces of vegetables you are forced to slice them to proper size for the mandolin. The tool is not helping it is in your way.4 the topmost layer of the vegetable usually gets stuck in the blades forcing you to undertake the risky procedure of prying a chunk of vegetable out of an array of razorsharp knives5 the anticut gloves that should help with this are yet another thing in your way you do not have to deal with if you simply use a knife6 the Vshaped inserts in the top of the tool tend to come out if you are trying to yank a stuck piece of veggieVerdict the tool might work great for very soft veggies or if you are not trying to dice things. Otherwise its use is such an ordeal that it wastes your time and energy instead of saving it.After a particularly involved fight with a stuck piece of rutabaga I was left with a hurting shoulder. I nearly avoided slicing my fingers. Nevermore.
awesome product This product saves time getting dinner on the table and money not buying packaged foods. The three blades that come with it gives you lots of slicing options and the holder prevents cuts and nicks to your hands.I had one previously and used for over 15 years before I lost the blades in a move. Well worth the money. Dont buy the cheap ones this one will last for years.
Taking Slicing and Dicing To Another Level!! I really love this slicer!! It's easy to use and has a safety feature that protects your fingers and hand. I like that it is compact and everything fits together in one stand up unit for storage. You also get really nice slicing creations at your finger tips from very thin to thick etc.
Creates the perfect slice I've tried this product on the following produce so far with the blades listed in parentheses tomatoes sliced potatoes thick and think julienne onions julienne blade with a few manual cuts to dice them cucumbers sliced and carrots sliced. I was really happy with the quality of the slice and it didn't destroy the produce I was working with. The end result looked very professional. I'm glad that I'm not crying anymore when I dice my onions so that was a huge plus. I shared some photos with friends and family of my work and they were impressed by the result.I tried to julienne carrots but it's faster to do those by hand. I was hoping that the thin julienne blade would produce a shredded potato but the potatoes were still a little thicker than I expected since I had read reviews about the product being able to shred. The product is easy to clean and comes with a dock for the blades and the unit. After a gentle hand wash you can let it drip dry because the dock has holes on the bottom for that purpose. Overall I'm satisfied with the product.
Great can't believe I didn't have this earlier Used it few times and I am impressed. This thing will make you eat more veggies / salads. Tried zucchini tomatoes cucumbers eggplant all were easily cut. Tedious cutting jobs are gone as this Mandoline will make perfect cuts 5 times faster than traditional methods. I never used other Mandolines before so I can't compare but Borner might be worth some extra money according to Amazon reviews. Don't hesitate to buy if you are thinking if you need it or not you need it and will not regret it.
Good This thing has a lot of german words on it. It's german engineering too much and complicated. At the end of the day it works fine. I wonder if it has any competitors. The blades are super strong! Stay away from them when washing. I had to have my boyfriend show me how it works because it was complicated to me initially. I use it. It works. I would look for something better though.
Fantastic I hesitated to buy it it was $40 I didn't really need to spend but I just put down two large bell peppers and one large onion in under a minute using the guard no less. Very smooth operation works fantastically very sharp. I'm glad I decided to buy something for myself.
held off on a mandoline but happy I've been halfway afraid to purchase a mandoline but I'm glad I did and this seems to be a nice quality for not a huge price. I expect to use it a lot very easy and nice storage piece included which I have hanging in the pantry.
Great Product For the price this is a great product. Easy to use easy to clean easy to store. It has the same construction quality as some of the higher end models. I would recommend this product.
Exactly what I was looking for I just received this today and I love it. It does exactly what I need it to do. The blades are extremely sharp and the thin slicing setting is wafer thin. I bought this to make homemade potato chips and it gives the perfect cut for a potato chip. As time goes on I will be sure to edit this review if I have any issues.

Bron Original Stainless Steel Mandolin Slicer Read more...

  • Folds flat for storage
  • Saftey guard for hands
  • Comes with three adjustable blades and adjustable lever settings
  • Many combinations for hundreds of varieties of cuts
  • Classic French design made in Stainless Steel

  • A real workhorse but not for amateurs The only place I've really used Bron mandolins is in professional kitchens. They are amazing and great for slicing cutting julienne and making gaufrettes. It has an incredibly sharp blade and is very sturdy. The guard is a bit useless as all mandolin guards are but a few applications might handle it alright. There are two perpendicular blades to cut batons either thin julienne or thicker like french fries.
Looks aren't everything OK I bought this very pricy version because lets face it its all stainless and very well built. It is sturdy and will last life time. That said it is not user friendly the blade adjustments are not easy as you have 3 cutting surfaces to adjust. The design may have been great years ago but any diagonal blade or V blade models will cut much easier and faster then this beautifully slicer. Just try cutting string carrots and you will hate this slicer the straight blade is very difficult to push raw carrots through. The standard holder will only cut to within 1/8 of the blade so to the rest is cut on the board or out it goes.Yes after spending all this money I am going back to my cheap plastic V blade that is super easy to use. Sorry Bron time to retool your plant and start making V blade models. This was a bad investment.
The Original for a reason It just simply works! After much research this was my first choice until actually using the de Buyer dicing mandoline form William and Sonoma. I knew I wanted a quality and versatile mandoline that would last for years to come as well as do the job with consistent results. I've used two other mandolines the OXO mandoline and de Buyer dicing mandoline this is the only one that will give consistent slicing thickness at 1mm or less thickness between slices as well as from one end to the other end of the slice where most failed continuallyIt's not made clear on amazon.com but this particular Bron mandoline come with the 10mm and 3mm julienne blades. 2mm blades would be nice sometimes but cutting 3mm x 1mm yields a similar cut that is nice in its own right. You can always purchase the blade set with the 2mm and 8mm / 4.5mm blades separately. This brings me to a fantastic attribute to this mandoline. If you somehow break something you can purchase every single part separately! The Good and great It cuts perfectly at any thickness. The blades are super sharp. The guard a bit odd at first compared to the deBuyer but in the end superior in my opinion as the guard really transmits pushing power and isn't a hindrance at all. Blades are riveted in for strength. Its stainless steel where it counts. It doesn't need a non stick surface for the food to slide down because the polished SS is slicker than anything else. Julienne blades are fixed to the mandoline. All one piece so no cheap plastic blade holders to fall off as in the de Buyer dicing model. Separate blades fro crinkle and straight. Collapsible feet that fold neatly out of sight.
Try it before paying the big price I returned this expensive slicer the same day I received it. The reasons being1. The blade is simple too blunt for a slicer that cost 150 dollars plus.2. The construction appears to be very solid until you actually operate it. The main unit is strong but the leg is unstable. Pushing a potable into the blade you will feel the leg are breaking out from the main unit sometime soon.3. The food holder is relatively safe to operate but is often less optimum for holding anything that has odd shape. This holder is supposed to be held to the main unit by something that bit into the rail. But my unit supposed to be brand new was keep falling off from the main unit. There appears to be many people like this product and are claiming it is something for professional. To me who deal with mechanical designs every day it is just a dated design with poor engineering. My suggestion is simple. You are of course free to believe whatever reviews out there.
Wonderful product arrives misassembled Both of the previous reviewers those who complained that this product is depicted upside down and those who have objected that it comes out of the box looking that way are correct. It was necessary to remove the folding legs and reinstall them rotated 180 degrees to make the mandonline usable as designed.
the blades are not dull This takes a little time to figure it all out but this is a awesome kitchen tool. I also recommend purchasing the cut resitent gloves. It does come with more then one blade.
    Excelencia
Solid professional toolexcellent but there are cheaper alternatives for the home This mandoline is a sturdy and wellmade tool excellent for making even and precise slices shoestring potatoes pommes allumettes wafflecut potatoes ordinary French fries and so on. I have had mine for about 15 years and it works like new.The main problem with it is that it's expensive. There are inexpensive plastic slicer/shredders available such as Benriner often sold in Japanese and Korean grocery stores which work just as well. In fact they're actually better for very fine slices and shredding. If you only want to make French fries you're probably better off getting a Frenchfry cutter which is faster but it's hard to get blades fine enough for true shoestrings. The Benriner plus a Frenchfry cutter together will cost about half as much as the mandoline and work as well or better of course they are nowhere near as heavyduty but that won't matter for most home users. The Bron mandoline has a couple of minor disadvantages. On older models the feet would scratch countertops but I believe this has been fixed now. Although most parts are stainless the rivets and screws do rust a little this has not been a problem. The pusher does not work very well. On the other hand this is a dangerous tool used without the pusher it produces especially ugly cuts if you're julienning. My solution is to use a cutresistant fillet glove also good for the Benriner. This gives you far better control and thus less waste.
Best madnolin I have ever owned I have only owned a few mandolin's in my life. All have fallen far short of my Grandmother's who brought hers over from Germany back in the 20's. During the 90's was when my last one fell apart and I sort of gave up. Then a few months ago I ran across this one and did some reasearch and it was the best balance of cost to value. The slices can be set for paper thin cucumbers and the blades are all razor sharp. Be very careful. The solid stainless steel construction put up with all kind of food acids and after a good rinse with warm soapy water gleams like it did the first day out of the box.Use care with where you store it. I have it on a hook on the outside of my cabinets. If you store it with other equipment the bades could get dull or thrown out of true and that will not made for clean consistant slices.Again well worth the investment.
REBRANDED? I do not own this Bron slicer. That being said this slicer looks VERY similar almost identical to the MAND1 slicer by LibertyWare usually listed around $75.
