Henckels 7 Slot Knife Storage Roll Perfect for Transporting Knives

decent quality, good for price, The quality is good for what it is. The material is vinyl and stitched well. I needed the longest roll I could find because I have one very large chef's knife. This one fit it just barely. Other options would have not (in this price range).

What I don't like about it is that vinyl could have been more flexible, so that you could actually ROLL it. As it is, you can only fold it over twice to close it. It isn't bad, but rolling would make it tighter to hold the knives. That is what is it is supposed to be. You are supposed to roll it and tie it tight so the knives and held together tight and so they aren't loose to bounce around and are protected from damage against hitting something else or being dropped.

Also, because the velcro is really short, if you try to roll it tight, the velcro overshoots its target and you can't close it off. They should have either extended the velcro fuzzy side or used some other strap securing mechanism. This would have added a nickel to the cost I think.

Overall, if you need something to contain your knives and don't want to spend much for a really good one, this will do the job. But it isn't anything special. It does look clean and neat though.
Perfect size!, My husband's a chef and takes his knives home every day. This is the perfect size and it even accommodates his knives with the blade guards. Plus, it's made well. Definitely, a quality product.
J.A. Henckels 7-Slot Knife Storage Roll, I purchased this item a year now. This pretty leather knife roll bag with bellcro strap works good, and all my knives are safe and secure, but you have to put your knife with edge guard, so it wont damage or cut your roll bag.
professional knife roll, I bought this knife roll for my boyfriend as a Christmas gift. He loves it! He is able to carry his knives to and from work now safely. He also forgets them less now too.
A product that does not work for my purposes., I ordered this item in hopes of giving it to my daughter for Christmas, however the size of the item and the stiffness of the fabric prevented it being useable for the intended application.
Good starter roll., If you are just starting out in the food industry or have a limited budget this is a good way to tote around your knives. For the german battle-axes (what i like to call my henckles pro-s set) it's just fine, however i don't feel this case provides adequate protetion for higher-end knives, and when I upgraded, I also upgraded my knife roll. I would recommend blade guards with any case, also. my battle axes got a little scratched up from not realizing that. I gave this to somebody at work after i had used it about a year and a half, and they are still using it, and it seems to still be in pretty good shape, especially for the price. it was a good starter but I do prefer my messermeister case. Messermeister 8-Pocket Knife Roll, Black.
Perfect for Transporting Knives, I bought this Knife Storage Roll for my husband for Christmas. He was thrilled and surprised that I found this item.
We competition BBQ and we have been wrapping our good knives in a dish towel to transport from home to the Contest sight and this has not been the safest way to do so. I went to the Amazon sight and typed in Knife Carrier and a selection of storage rolls were displayed. I choose this one for it's size and strength.
The product is well made and just the right size for our use.
I read several reviews before I made my purchase and for those "Professionals" that did not give it a glowing review, perhaps you should give it to a buddy of yours that BBQ's and get yourself a more expensive one...
Excellent for the price, I purchased this item to take my knives to cook at another home for the holidays. I was able to take 4 knives and a sharpening steel with room for maybe 2 more knives. The pouch is very high quality for the price. The knives are safely and securely stored for traveling. When I first opened the package and looked at the pouch, I was surprised that the price was not higher. I highly recommend this item.
Not the fanciest storage roll, but great for what it is, My wife has been using this knife storage roll for over 2 years now, both personally and professionally, and it has seen quite a bit of use. However, it still looks and feels as sturdy as it was when it first arrived! The materials are thick and of good quality, and the craftsmanship has held up wonderfully for years now.

It may not be the biggest, or have all the features of some of the newer (and more expensive) knife storage solutions, but for the cost the J.A. Henckels 7-Slot knife storage roll is great.
Okay but small, If you only need to carry a couple knives and not much more this bag would be fine. As a culinary student I found myself needing to carry more small items like measuring spoons, pens and sharpies, thermometers, note pads, a bench scraper... and this really wasn't able to do the job. I ended up going with a metal toolbox, but I will keep this around for the times when I only want to take three or four knives and a steel to work.

John Boos RA03 Reversible Cutting I like this board but....

Top of the Line Cutting Board, I treated myself to this gorgeous cutting board and was not disappointed. At 1 and 1/2 inches thick -- it's VERY hefty. I would not want anything thicker or heavier. It's also fully reversible. Solid, beautiful maple. Save a little money by purchasing some food grade mineral oil at your local CVS, to keep it sealed. I keep four felt circles under it to keep it slightly off the counter. It's the best cutting board on the market and will last generations if properly taken care of.
You just gotta love American maple cutting boards, I definitely love my Boos board. It's hard to go wrong with this model's simple style and convenient size. However, Boos makes such a variety of boards, I wish I had room for a few different ones. You can work both sides of this version as it is without feet. The handles on each side make for easy moving and storage. Make sure to treat it regularly with oil or cream designed for the board.
John Boos 24 X 18 X -1/2 Reversible Cutting Board, The board split within six weeks after receipt. Boos did not bother to reply to two separate contacts. This is supposedly a "professional/top quality" cutting board. I bought it assuming my husband could use it for years.
"Chop On Board", This a gift, I have two in my kitchen for several years, they are the best. They stay together, no cracks, just oil them down regularly. The Best....
John Boos 24 by 18 Maple Cutting Board is a Disappointment!!, I am very disappointed with this board. It is my third John Boos cutting board and in no way does it measure up to the previous two.
The cutting surface is consistently rough. My husband has smoothed it with fine grain sandpaper twice and I have oiled the surface several times with John Boos' Boos Block Board Cream to no avail. What is really annoying to me is that I have contacted the company on their customer service website and have not received the courtesy of a reply.
Warped after one year of use!, I bought the "20X15" board that is 1.5 inches thick, and it's now warped. Some of the planks of wood that are glued together have come apart, so there are like 2mm gaps in the board at some parts where food can get inside. And the board doesn't lie flat anymore - it rocks over to one side when you put weight on the edge. This is after just one year of use.

It's pretty much totally unusable on one side because of the rocking, and not very nice to use when you flip it over either because it's got a slight hump in the middle and still doesn't quite lie flat.

The board wasn't abused or anything, either. For the first couple months I had it, I oiled it regularly. After that I wasn't so regular with the oiling, but I've had lots of wooden cutting boards (bamboo, mostly) over the years, which were half as thick as this one, and those never warped. And I never oiled those at all! I'm guessing the warping is from moisture damage - but I've treated this board just like all my previous wooden ones and those never got moisture damage.
A bit pricey but worth the money!, This cutting board is heavy and a good size to use in food prep and / or rolling out pie dough. It was a bit pricey and was purchased as a gift. When it arrived, I decided it was worth the amount spent on it. It will provide years of use and is a kitchen design statement as well.
Quality not as expected, John Boos boards are generally well regarded, but the 20 by 15 board is lacking. The edge grain blocks are only 7/8" wide, as opposed to 1 3/4" width on the 24 by 18 boards. The narrower blocks means more glue is used (which is bad for knives) and it has more areas where splits can occur.

Even after similar care as my John Boos 24 by 18 boards and my BoardSMITH board, the 20 by 15 started to split. I'm ordering a BoardSMITH board as its replacement.
boos chopping block, Really love the size and quality of this, but was not happy with the packaging it was in, there was no filler in the box and the box was very large. Two corners of the chopping block had broken off. They were small flaws and I decided that I could live with them and didn't send back. I think Amazon should put packing fill in items like this in future. This is first item that I have received damaged.
I like this board but...., I bought the 20x15 2.5in block from another website. I really like the board but, I do have one issue with it. For the amount of money you spend on the board I would expect it to be a finished board, ready for use. Right out of packaging it was a bit rough. I wiped it down with a damp sponge in preparation for seasoning and it became VERY rough to the point it needed sanding with fine grit paper. Personally, this isnt how I would want a product of mine to be sent to a customer. When paying this amount for a cutting board, it really should be useable from day 1 which is why I rated it 4 stars instead of 5.

All that being said, I do like the block and as with any board, it needs to be well seasoned before use. The initial seasoning is a bit time consuming however, the process only needs to be done once. I make my own Wood Butter but you can also purchase one of the several on the market for this task. I prefer to make my own because its more cost effective for the amount of product and I can control the ingredients.

Its really very easy to make your own Wood Butter. Using a double boiler, melt 4oz (1/4lb) beeswax. Once fully melted, slowly stir in 16oz melted coconut oil (you can use food grade mineral oil or walnut oil as well). Let mixture cool slightly then transfer to a warmed canning jar. I prefer coconut oil because its all natural, not petroleum based like mineral oil. It has a long shelf life (2 years) and will not go rancid, its naturally antibacterial and of course, the smell is just amazing. This also makes a wonderful gift for the holidays, housewarming or wedding when accompanied with a favorite wood spoon or other utensil.

Properly seasoning a board - Rub the butter into the board going with the grain. Allow it to sit 4-6 hours then buff out with a soft cloth.

Keep the cutting board clean by simply washing it with hot soapy water after each use and dry it with a clean paper towel or let it air dry. The board was shipped from the factory with a penetrating natural oil finish, which allows for great cutting, chopping, and slicing, but it's important to give the cutting board a good oiling on all surfaces every three to four weeks. When the cutting board becomes dry and lighter in color, it's time to re-oil, which is an easy way to lengthen the life of the board by many years.

More appealing and attractive than plastic, a wooden cutting board is a great alternative to plastic cutting boards as it can inhibit bacteria growth, while plastic boards harbor bacteria in the grooves cut into their surface. (Although Boos cutting boards do not harbor bacteria, it is a good habit to use separate cutting boards for different types of food prep.) Wood cutting boards are also easier on knives, where plastic boards can dull knives quickly. Boos cutting boards are manufactured by John Boos & Co. in Effingham, Illinois, which has been manufacturing high-quality wood cutting boards, butcher blocks, and countertops since 1887.

KitchenAid FGA Grinder Attachment Mixers Hamburger

I'd love something better!, This grinder does a great job of grinding meat and hard vegetables (onions, carrots, and the like). But take a look at the pictures showing the motor grease the grinder pulls into the meat and the way the plastic cracks, and check out the many all but uncleanable cracks and crevices. The photos are all too accurate.

You might be able to catch the motor grease ooze in a marker cap but it can't get to the front of the grinder without going through it with the meat. Cutting the meat small lessens the grease you see -- is that good or bad?

The grinder I got with my first Kitchen-Aid (mixer and grinder disappeared in a house moving and if they hadn't I bet they'd still be going strong!) was made of metal. Cast aluminum housing and cap, metal worm (the part that pushes the meat into the plates), and the same good stainless steel blade and plates. It was dimensionally stable and heat-safe, unlike the plastic and plastic-sheathed parts of the current design.

The motor grease is a fault of the mixer more than the grinder as far as I can see. My old Kitchen-Aid mixer never did this. This one oozes grease whenever any attachment is used; with the grinder the grease goes into the food.
Should have listened..., When I read other reviews about there being some sort of "metal" filings being ground in to the food, I assumed people weren't using it right. I received my Kitchenaid Food grinder yesterday, cleaned it up very well, and put it to use today. Imagine my dismay when I began seeing what looked like finely ground blackish/grey "metal" filings in my meat. I noticed that when the meat was coming out, this junk seemed to come right out of the center of the grinding plate. I took the grinder plate off and noticed that the knife is LOOSE around the square peg part of the grind worm. It has quite a bit of "wiggle" from side to side. I suspect this is some sort of milling/manufacturing issue since there should be no wiggle (I can almost turn the knife part of the assembly completely around the square peg) in this product, the knife should fit snugly around the square peg. My theory is that this is causing some wear on the square peg/knife and producing metal dust, which then gets transferred to the meat. I would imagine that ultimately, with enough wear, the square peg will lose it's squareness and render the grinder useless because the knife would just spin freely around the peg.

I'm going to ask my husband if there is any way to permanently affix the knife part to the grinder worm. Since this will be used exclusively as a grinder, I don't have to worry about taking it off for other attachments. If I can solve the "wiggle" problem, then there should be no more metal filings. Until we can figure something out, I won't be using it. I would return it, but it's a hassle and should work fine with some modifications.

The grinder does work beautifully, but it's clear this is not an isolated problem so based on that, I couldn't recommend it.
great kitchen helper, I was happy to find this item at such a good price. I received one like it when I first purchased my 6 qt KitchenAid mixer many years ago. At first I didn't know what to do with it but then I realized we could make extra fresh ground pork or beef from roasts bought on sale. Like another reviewer said, running a crust of bread through it at the end helps to get out the last little bit of meat. I do add the garlic and cut up ginger and grind it too when grinding pork for egg rolls.

After many years of use, my grinder has developed a crack and I have used it so much it has become a kitchen necessity. If you want to make your own sausage or ground chicken or whatever, this tool is just the thing to go with your mixer.
Hamburger, We bought this to link up with our KitchenAid mixer and had it since 2010. The white parts are plastic and the grinding and cutting parts are metal. We make our own hamburger since the market stuff has too much fat and who know what in it. Our local Vons or Ralphs sells london broil steaks sometimes for less than two dollars a pound.
Kitchen Aid Food Grinder and Sausage Stuffer, I have had this product for about two months and I have to say, unlike some reviews, that it works great. This grinder produces product as good as any I have seen in a professional kitchen with prices in the hundreds of dollars to over one thoudsand dollars. That being said...... this is not an attachment for a professional kitchen, it will do anything and everything the home cook wants to do with it, but I doubt it would stand the test of time in a commercial kitchen, after all it's plastic.

I have ground and stuffed at leat fifty pounds of meat/pork since I purchased this attachment with no problems. I will say that it is nice to have a second pair of hands when you are stuffing sausage, it can be a little tricky if you are alone.

      Some tips for success:

      1) When you first get the grinder set it up and lube the blade and die plates with some oil. Run it on speed 2 for about 5min with each die. Mark the die in some way so you always have the same side to the blade every time you grind.

      2) When you assemble the unit DO NOT CRANK THE RETAINER SCREW DOWN LIKE A LUG NUT ON YOUR CAR!! Screw it on, and when it stops, STOP!!! No doubt the reason people are getting the "black slime" in the meat is they are cranking down the reatiner screw and causing excessive metal to metal contact.

      3) Your meat needs to be super cold but not frozen. Cut it to grinding size, put it on a cutting board, then throw it in the freezer for 20min until firm. This makes a world of difference.
Used it for stuffing sausages., I bought this grinder to make sausages at home. I'm not happy at all with this grinder. The meat must be 100% lean so the fat won't get stuck in the little holes and clog it. The blade is not sharp enough in order to cut through the fat. Also to make sausages you need the plate with bigger holes. It takes a very long time so I just took the meat to the restaurant to grind it and just stuffed the sausages at home, but that also took hours.
DANGEROUS METAL PARTICLES, The metal parts of this product are shoddily made of inadequate materials. Metal dust is created between the hub of the worm, the cutter and the cutting plate rubbing together. Extreme health hazard. Imagine using this for baby foods!!!! Too bad as this product would be great if it was manufactured and engineered to a better standard.
Amazon have been great issuing a full refund. Since KitchenAid was sold to Whirlpool/Sears it has become just like many of Sears other brands. Junk! Too bad. Iconic American companies being sold out for quick profits.
Works exactly as told for me., I have been eyeing on this product ever since I purchased my Kitchen Aid Mixer 6 months ago. Every time I read negative review, I used to feel not to buy this. And then I read positive reviews and wanted to buy. After long debate, I wanted to give it a try. I went to local store and bought FGA and Slicer attachment. I gave FGA a try to ground chicken breasts and cook them for my baby. It was absolutely great, I was able to grind without any problem. Only thing I noticed was there was some chicken left behind the knife and rotating pin. I am extremely happy with my purchase and now I can ground all meats at home for my toddler.
Once again thank you Kitchen Aid.
No grey matter in my ground chicken, I did not even have to push meat hard, it made its way through.
Good addition to stand mixer, This meat grinder is well built and works well. It is good for grinding a few pounds of meat at a time. There is some waste, as a bit of meat gets stuck inside the grooves of the grinder and grinding plate.
KitchenAid FGA Food Grinder Attachment for Stand Mixers, The other reviews about this product causing metal filings to be found in the ground food are correct.
I will be contacting KitchenAid to voice my concerns.
      Not the fault of Amazon.
Amazon....consider not selling this item until
problems with product design are resolved.

Breadman TR2500BC Stainless Steel Convection Breadmaker Review in progress

Review in progress, I purchased this machine even though the reviews seem to all be polar opposites of each other. I have not yet used my machine, and I will update this review once I have, but the biggest reason that I purchased it was because it states that it has a 60 minute power backup. My rental community experiences frequent power outages (usually just blinking on and off, but sometimes longer) and I thought this was a very handy feature, and it was the longest one I saw of any of the machines.

Today I received my bread maker, and in the manual there is a sticker over what I am assuming used to be their "60 minute" policy stating that it only has backup for 7 minutes. If you are looking at this machine because of its lengthy power outage assurances, please be aware that this is false.
breadmaker, This product is good for giving a perfect loaf of bread. It mixes well, better than the other breadmakers I had.The mixing process is a little noisy but it is well worth it.
Awesome, This was a Christmas gift...........I love it! Easy to use and the recipes are great. The choice of size of the loaf is an added bonus.
Great choice for a breadmaker, After pouring over reviews of various breadmakers, and watching prices, I finally ordered the Breadman 2500 and I am happy with my choice. I'm sure there's other great bread machines out there, and I can't say if there's a better one than this, but I can say this one is nice. So far I have done a few white breads, french breads, a banana bread & a boxed mix and all have turned out thoroughly mixed and evenly cooked. I haven't had any problems with the pan rattling, I haven't had problems with the add-ins getting stuck. I DID run into a problem when I tried to add chocolate chips to some banana bread - I forgot to choose the "add extras" option, and so the little trap door never opened to dump in the chocolate. Then as the machine heated to cook the bread, all the chocolate melted and made a huge messy chocolate chunk. And since I'm hoping to have this machine a long time, I'm sure I'll do the same thing again at some point, but there's not much Breadman can do about this - just be aware that you'll be kicking yourself if you do this. Overall I think this is a solid choice of a bread machine. It has a simple & sleek look on the counter, and plenty of options for cooking all types of breads. It kneads steadily through 2 lbs of french bread dough. The larger loafs do come out funny shaped (more tall and skinny, as opposed to short and long) but you can cut the tall slices in half to make normal sized slices so to me this is a minor issue. Overall this is a good choice if you're looking for an all purpose bread machine.
terrible bread machine, I received this as a gift and was very excited about it. Well on my first time I couldn't get the baking pan to stay in place to knead, it kept popping out and I would have to put it back in place, at least 20 times! Needless to say my first loaf looked like a misshapen lump of baked dough. I don't know if I even want to try it again.
amazing!, This bread maker is amazing! It is easy to operate, and everything comes out perfect and delicious! I only gave it four stars because I have to put mine on the floor or else it will shake itself of the counter, it was a close call the first time we used. It was moving across our counter (not fast) but we didnt want to chance it, so we make our bread on the ground :) it still tastes just the same.
So far so good..., We have only had this machine for about a month, so I can't speak for its durability. As others have commented, the touch panel bubbled up in one spot immediately. Also, there is no reason that the "beeps" need to be that loud-- after we first plugged it in, we had to scrape our cats off the ceiling.

Our only real problem so far was finding the cycle indicator. It is not very noticeable and it would be nice if the manual pointed out where it is located on the display.

A couple of comments: Unless baking the bread overnight, remove the paddle before baking (hold the pause button down until it beeps). It's easy to do, and the bread can then be spread evenly if the kneading left it a bit lopsided. My fruit and nut dispenser worked ok, but I find I get way better distribution by adding a bit at a time during the knead cycle.

As far as the bread itself is concerned, our results have been fine.
defective pan, We were initially very happy with this machine, but after 15 months of moderate use, the spindle that holds the paddle in place fell out of the pan. The Teflon coating on the bottom of the pan is flaking off. I assume that both Teflon flakes and the disintegrated attachment ring were probably baked into our last loaf of bread.
In addition, The motor strains when making dense/whole grain breads. Finally, the keypad on the top of the machine is difficult to "read" and the switches (and switch covering) are of poor quality and unreliable.
Wife LOVED it.....had to return it, My wife LOVED the machine. In the few weeks of owning it, it was FANTASTIC. The quality of the bread was second to none. However, after about three loaves, we noticed that a seal at the bottom of the bread pan, was beginning to corrode. I had purchased the "used-like new" model. It was definitely NOT like new. A few of the accessories were broken. We returned it but we WILL be ordering the same make/model again, from a different merchant (we initially ordered from Warehouse Deals).
kneading paddle slips off; poor construction. Decent bread. Broke after 3 uses., The bad: I just received my machine today and right out of the box was disappointed. The control panel label was not affixed properly (not the plastic cover for shipping), the outside was scratched, one of the screws was drilled in crookedly... It just seemed to be assembled poorly. I didn't give up hope until I washed everything (as per the directions) and placed the kneading paddle in the pan.

Progressive International Curly Fry Cutter Great for the price

So much fun and so easy to use!,
IT WORKS!!, WE LOVE CURLY FRIES IN OUR HOME. I WENT SEARCHING FOR A MACHINE TO MAKE THEM AT HOME. AT FIRST I CAME ACROSS A FEW MACHINES THAT WERE TOO EXPENSIVE. THEN I FOUND THIS ONE HERE AT AMAZON AND I PURCHASED IT. IT'S BEEN A MONTH NOW AND MANY USES LATER ...IT STILL WORKS. THIS IS A REALLY GOOD CURLY FRY MAKER AND FOR THE PRICE..IT'S A STEAL. TRY IT...
Works great, This works as advertised. It is plastic, but sturdy. It cuts potatoes into perfect curly fries with minimal effort. I recommend it.
Great for the price, Ive had it for almost a year now. & No problems. Ive never tried it for sweet potatoes but for regular ones it works. fine.

Cheap simple design thats easy to use, no complaints here.
curly fries! CURLY FRIES!!!, This cutter works great. Cleaning is easy, and the fries stay long and curly in a continuous cut. I ordered this with a FryDaddy at the same time, and will be making curly fries at home about once a month from now on! One thing I didn't consider is that it's kind of awkward to store. The only kind of bad part of the design itself is the collection container at the bottom. It works, but if you're planning on cutting more than one potato, expect to empty it repeatedly. A larger collection bin would seem nice at first, but just make it even more awkward to store...but hey, we're talking about curly fries here.
Curley fries, The curley fry maker works well if the potatoes are small in size. Nice to use for other types of veggies.
works great!, I've used this once so far and it makes great curly fries. I used russet potatoes and a recipe for Arby's Curly Fries that I found online. The recipe was so-so but the fries were super curly and my kids didn't seem to mind the so-so recipe since they had so much fun making the fries! The only thing that I wish is it could be washed in the dishwasher - it states that it is not dishwasher-safe, however, I knew that before purchasing it.
Does the job..., I have owned this now for three months and am on my second one. This does a good job of making curly fries, however has a few problems.

      1. Instructions say that all parts are upper rack diswasher safe. For the first one I had I always used the upper rack, but over time the plastic base and lid warped to the point that the blade attachment no longer fit in without a lot of pressure and the lid didn't fit, making it a pain to use. I have since purchased my second one and now just handwash the parts.

      2. The plastic grip where you attach the potato is inadequate, the grip is maybe 1/4" long and unless you are using a small or medium sized potatoe it easily falls off. I find myself constantly attaching the potato, starting to crank the shaft, then it falls off, I have to reattach, it falls off again, I have to cut the potatoe down some and repeat. The problem is with medium-large potatoes weigh a bit more than the grip can hold.

      3. In both units I received I found that out of the box there weren't a lot of curly fries being made, more chunks came out than curly pieces. Solution for this was to press down on the top of the blade with a good deal of pressure to esentially position it lower. I found that after doing this I get better results and more curly fries.

All in all I like the curly fry cutter, just wish it was better quality and could handle larger potatoes better.
I can't believe how well this works, This.Is.Perfect.

The concept of this fry cutter is simple and easy to use. I read a lot of people complaining about how the potatoes fall off, well hellllllo, this thing adheres to the principles of gravity. Here are a few tips to ensure that your potatoes stay on.

      1) choose smaller potatoes. The lighter the potato, the more likely it will be to stay on.

      2) cut larger potatoes in half. Again, the weight is somewhat important

      3) Utilize the drop lever, rather than winding it down manually

This thing is simple to use, and it works flawlessly. Thugh made of plastic, it is still pretty tough.
Works great!, Was really not expecting it to work as well as it does. Easier to cut a potato with this than with a knife.

Avoid the restaurant bill and make your own curly fries at home with this easy-to-use Curly Fry Cutter from Progressive International, which quickly slices or spirals potatoes and yams in seconds. The fully enclosed cutting container keeps fingers safely away from sharp blades while slicing, and the threaded arm requires less arm strength for smoother continuous slicing. Just push your potato into the food grip at the end of the threaded rod, put the lid on the base, then turn the handle clockwise while holding the lid firmly.

You can quickly switch the cutter's blades from straight to julienne cuts on the removable blade tray, and the bottom base holds up to 3 cups (about 24 ounces) and includes printed measurements and a non-skid bottom. All pieces nest inside for easy storage, and it's top rack dishwasher safe. The Curly Fry Cutter measures 5-3/4 inches square and 13 inches tall when fully assembled.

      Fully closed cutting container.

OXO Multi Purpose Pastry Scraper Chopper I can't believe I used to cook and bake without this!

Really good!, It is a really good and useful scraper/chopper. More convenient in cutting staff. It is easy to hold in hand when cutting or chopping.
Excellent product., It does exactly what it is designed to do and it does it well. It will scrape your work surface nicely. The scrapping edge is quite sharp. It can be used to chop some nuts or herbs for you bread. It will probably not last. I don't know if I want to sharpen it again.
Worth every penny!, I thought about skipping the extra cost and substituting it with a similar product I already had but I'm glad I didn't. The handle has some weight to it which makes it perfect for cutting dough. I didn't notice the measurements on the "blade" when I placed my order but they have came in handy numerous times.
Love It!, This is well-made and very handy. The etched markings are wonderful for measuring. The handle is large but not unwieldy, even with small hands. It's very sharp and scrapes easily and cleanly. Great product.
Not a good scaper nor a good chopper, but scoops well., The item was heavier and more substantial than I expected. Being advertised as a pastry scraper, I thought it would be somewhat flexible, in order to conform to the sides of round bowls. It does not flex. You will only be scraping something flat.

As a chopper for veggies, I gave up and used a knife. It will chop some but not all the way through. It took a fair amount of effort to cut that much. I tried it with an onion and bell peppers using a straight down approach then the push and slide. I feel this item, for me, will be best used for chopping much softer items, like eggs.

If you are expecting this item to work as well as a sharp knife, you will be disappointed. If you are expecting this item to scrape down the sides of bowls, you will also be disappointed. On any flat surface, this item would work well as a scraper.

It seems like it would be a great for cutting cinnamon rolls or applying drywall compound.
Does the job, OXO simply makes good stuff. This item does exactly what you would expect it to. Solid make and sharp edge. I have used to cut through roll dough and it does so with ease.
Oxo Good Grips Bread-baking and Cutting aid, Excellent in every way. I bake bread on a regular basis, and use it every time, to divide the dough, and scrape the kneeding board.
Awesome, The OXO Good Grips Multi-Purpose Pastry Scraper/Chopper is great for use with pizza dough or bread. The edge is quite sharp and the handle is very sturdy. Easy to clean and has measurements on the blade.
I can't believe I used to cook and bake without this!, The OXO Good Grips line has done it again with their Pastry Scrapper/Chopper. I picked it up after I began working with dough more often, and wanted something that would work better with pastry than just a standard kitchen knife. It works excellently for pastry scrapping and chopping, but it does so much more than that. For anything that needs a rough cut (i.e. tomatoes for sauce), this is now my go-to device. The rulings on it make it great for seeing how large my chunks are, when trying a new recipe that calls for things to be cut to a certain size. In addition, I often don't want to dirty and clean an expensive kitchen knife, when I could use this trusty workhorse and throw it in the dishwasher afterward.
Wonderful!, I love this bench scraper. It is both sturdy and tough! It works a million times better than my old one. It is a bit expensive but I think it is worth the money.

OXO Good Grips Dough Blender Can''t go wrong with this one!

Comfortable to use, but not functional, Nice handle design, but that's about as much as I can say for this pastry knife. The wire blades are too flexible, so they tend to bend around butter/shortening instead of cutting it. If you want something that works, buy a pastry knife with blades that are cut from a solid piece of metal, instead of individual wires.
      Dough Blender,
Don't bother buying it!, this dough blender is pretty useless. the wires are not reinforced which makes cutting cold butter into the flour almost impossible and very time-consuming. you're better off just using two knives or your fingers than this dough blender, that's for sure.
Flimsy, I bake but not so much that I put a hand blender through any serious paces. This worked well enough and it was easy to grip BUT it is flimsy. Even with the limited use I made of it (once a month) the plastic holding the wires BROKE. There is no way to fix the cheap plastic and it is useless.

Really, it was not a good value for the sturdiness required for an occasional baker of biscuits as myself.
Wires Spread, I have had this blender for a while. It is okay on smaller jobs such as streusel but I recently made a double pie crust recipe and instead of cutting the butter the wires spread and let the butter pass through almost whole. It was a mess. By the time I was done by arms were sore, the blender was misshapen and there were still huge chunks of butter in the dough. I would suggest getting one that has sides to it so the wires don't have as much room to spread.
Its ok, could be better. . ., For the price, its a decent value.
      Sturdy enough for light-medium bakers.
If you bake alot, dont get a wire version.
The butter does get clogged in the wire and
you have to keep clearing it til the dough
      gets a little worked.
Can''t go wrong with this one!, Excellent product! I use this several times a week when making biscuits. Great for any pastry dough that needs butter/lard/shortening mixed with flour. Very easy to clean and the handle makes it easy to grab and use.
Falls apart too easily, It works like its suppose to for a while, be the "tongs" are too fragile and bendable. I make a lot of pies during the holiday season, and one tong broke off and another couple were bent beyond repair. Do yourself a favor and purchase a more substantial piece of equipment. I was very displeased at this product.
Cracked plastic, I liked the product because the handle was more comfortable to hold than my previous one. Cold butter was hard to cut with this, and the last time I used it, one of the end tines was bending way out. After closer inspection, I saw that the plastic around the tine had just cracked apart. Some duct tape might do the trick, but no, I'm now searching for a better pastry blender.
Best pastry blender on the market, I have used one of these for 15 years. The grip is far more comfortable than the ones with metal handles, and the rounded wires do not cut or bother your fingers when you wipe off the excess shortening or butter (like others with flat metal cutting edges do). It works better than others I've had, it's easier to wash (because of the rounded wires) and it appears to be indestructible. When my daughter went off to college, she asked me to send her one so she could make pies and crumbles. I gave her mine, thinking it would be easy to replace it. I couldn't find it in any local stores (and many inferior versions were actually more expensive), so I ordered it here.

    • Perfect for blending dough
    • Broad, soft handle absorbs pressure
    • Safe to use in dishwasher
    • Sturdy stainless-steel wires
    • Great for making crumb toppings

    • Perfect for blending dough.Broad, soft handle absorbs pressure.Safe to use in dishwasher.Sturdy stainless-steel wires.Great for making crumb toppings. Trying to blend butter or margarine with dry ingredients is no easy task. Although it can be accomplished with the crossing of swords (in this case, butter knives), your arms and hands certainly bear the brunt. Enter the dough blender by Oxo. The sturdy stainless-steel wires do the work of 12 butter knives and hold up swimmingly under pressure. The wide, nonslip handle will absorb the stress the work puts on your hands, making this tool as comfortable to use as it is easy. It's also great for making crumb topping for coffeecakes, cobblers, and fruit crisps. And, like all Good Grips gadgets, it's dishwasher-safe.
